WHAT IS PEPTAMEN JUNIOR 0.6?

 

Peptamen® Junior 0.6 is a low energy peptide-based enteral tube feed for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition in patients with malabsorption and/or maldigestion who have reduced energy requirements. It is a partially hydrolysed, 100% whey protein formula with omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and 36% of the fat as MCT. Peptamen® Junior 0.6 is a nutritionally complete Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision.

Ingredients:

Water, maltodextrin, peptides from partially hydrolysed whey protein (milk), soybean oil, starch, sucrose, MCT oil, fibres (partially hydrolysed guar gum, pea fibre), minerals (potassium citrate, calcium phosphate, magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, calcium citrate, sodium phosphate, magnesium oxide, ferrous lactate, zinc sulphate, copper gluconate, manganese sulphate, sodium fluoride, potassium iodide, chromium chloride, sodium selenite, sodium molybdate), emulsifiers (E472c, E471), fish oil, choline bitartrate, vitamins (C, niacin, E, pantothenic acid, B6, riboflavin, thiamin, A, folic acid, biotin, K, D, B12), stabiliser (E407), taurine, inositol, L-carnitine.
Intended for children with identified reduced energy needs. Recommended volumes should be based on a thorough assessment and continuous evaluation of the needs of the child.
Directions for use and storage: Shake well before use. Once spiked, use within 24 hours. Recap unused portion, refrigerate and use within 24 hours. If poured out of the pack, cover tightly and use within 6 hours. In order to maintain a constant flow, the use of a pump is recommended. Unopened, store in a cool dry place.
ACBS approved, prescribable on FP10 (GP10 in Scotland). Indicated as a sole source of nutrition for children aged 1 year onwards for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition in patients with malabsorption and/or maldigestion who have reduced energy requirements CONTRAINDICATIONS Not suitable for patients with a cows’ milk allergy. PRECAUTIONS For enteral use only. Suitable for children above 1 year of age. Do not add food or drugs to the feed.
