Carolyn Furness
Senior Specialist Neurosciences Dietitian, The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, London & Intolerance Decision Tree Working Group
“As there is limited guidance to support enteral feed intolerance in neurology, the tool has been a welcomed resource to use in practice by healthcare professionals. The flowchart provides a clear pathway, enabling the user to troubleshoot tolerance issues and improve symptoms with medical and dietetic solutions working side by side. It has been a great experience being involved in the development and rewarding to receive the positive feedback of its benefit for both healthcare professionals and patients.”

Tried & Tested
Nestlé Health Science conducted a pilot study1 of 15 participants in 2020 to understand how this tool was being used in practice, and its value to the healthcare professionals and patients alike. Our study showed us that users saw a potential in saving nursing and dietetic time 1. Look out for a more detailed study that will be published soon.
