Survey Reveals Unhealthy Foods Dominate Young People’s Snacking

A new survey of over 2,500 UK school children by the British Nutrition Foundation, reveals that young people’s snack choices are dominated by foods typically high in fat, salt and sugar, raising fresh concerns about the daily diets of 10-13-year-olds.

The survey found that nearly four in five (79%) young people had two or more snacks a day and that these were most commonly eaten after school, with 76% of young people saying that this is a time of day when they normally have a snack during the week.
